I can't say enough great things about that dinner. Our last night we had a private tasting menu with the chef at the European restaurant along with another couple. One of the most memorable breakfast buffets I've seen to date! I also made plenty of use of the FREE ice cream bar - my heaven! Lunch by the pool was great as wells as dinner at the living room. ![]() A few times we had to wait a while for one, but otherwise very prompt.įood: everything was excellent. Sky at the pool was wonderful, the spa staff was incredible - Beam is magical especially for a necessary acupuncture session! The grounds are pretty big and set on a hill so there is a buggy service that will take you around. She was beyond lovely and always at our beck and call! Even when I ran out of contact solution she gave me hers! Such a life saver! She also gave us a bottle of champagne on our last night. Service: our GEM, Annie was so wonderful. My only complaints were that it was difficult to get in and out of the net that covers the bed (for someone who frequently gets up to use the restroom) and the upstairs deck had termites crawling around when we arrived. It was still beautiful with our jungle view. I do love an outdoor shower though and enjoyed this one very much! I read other reviews saying it's not worth it if you don't have a sea view, and while I would have much preferred one, I didn't feel super disappointed that we didn't. We had a villa with an enclosed bathroom, so I'm not sure I would have felt the same way otherwise. When we arrived the bed was made up with rose petals and chocolates. Rooms: individual villas were lovely and spacious. The view from the hilltop pool is one I the most spectacular views I've ever seen (be sure to check it out at sunrise one morning!) Beautiful villas, lush landscaping, stunning design - everywhere you look is picturesque. This was the last stop on our honeymoon, and it was definitely a "save the best for last" scenario.Īmbiance: After a gorgeous 40 minute boat ride from the marina we pulled up to what looked like a Swiss Family Robinson meets Ralph Lauren advertisement. We did speak to a manager to voice our disappointment & have received a personal email since, showing great customer service. A blanket & popcorn completes the experience & we participated on both our evenings.Īlthough we enjoyed our time, we didn't feel that all aspects lived up to our expectations, bearing in mind the costs involved in staying there. ![]() There is a beach in front of the Six Senses but we only spent a short time there, however in the evening the loungers are turned to face an outdoor cinema screen in order to watch the nightly film. This wasn't so easy to do that evening however & JoJo was called to sort out, which he did. On the following night, we had asked a member of staff in The Living Room, if we could eat there but from The Den's menu & were told we could, even though there was a Thai buffet taking place. We had dinner on our 1st night at The Den which we enjoyed amidst the stunning location. Such a stunning backdrop.īreakfast is taken at The Living Room & consists of various stations/rooms from where you can choose from an array of different items. Although I'd done my research beforehand, the setting of the swimming pool there took my breath away. After a short walk he called for a buggy from the pick-up point to pick us up & took us to Hilltop. JoJo asked if we would like a tour around the resort, which we accepted. Although it was situated within a few minutes walk of the eating areas, we still had lots of privacy. ![]() The villa itself (no.24) was rustic in design & comfortable with a great outdoor area & lovely views. We were taken to our villa, being informed en route, that we had been upgraded from our hideaway villa to an ocean view villa which was much appreciated. A nice touch was the sign on the buggy, showing our names & welcoming us. We were met by our GEM JoJo & the manager & shown to our buggy. As we neared our destination, the boat slowed down to enable us a lingering view of our 'home' for the next 2 nights, before heading for the pier. ![]() The speedboat journey across was exhilarating with picture postcard views. Upon arrival there, the Six Senses team took over & we knew we were in safe hands. We travelled down to the pier in Phuket from our hotel in Khao Lak.
